Cameras

Matching the shot to the tool. A brief inventory of cameras I have used so far.

Nikon EM

My 1st introduction to film photography. Its 2nd Spatharioti user.

  • Light and portable.
  • Reliable.
  • Taught me ``light leaks'' the hard way.
  • Will never judge my choices.
  • 14/10

Olympus OM-1

The Nikon older sibling (literally).

  • Sturdy and powerful.
  • Metering is a game.
  • Taught me ``your hair is in the way'' the hard way.
  • Expects more from me.
  • 14/10

Holga 120

Also known as the ``you can't afford a Hasselblad'' medium format camera.

  • It's a toy.
  • Shoot and hope for the best.
  • Taught me ``your lens cap is in the way'' the hard way.
  • Broke a tiny piece in the first 5'. It's not mad, just disappointed.
  • Surprisingly 12/10

Kodak Pony IV

The 35mm Holga equivalent.

  • Is radiant.
  • Good luck opening the back.
  • Taught me ``you're never done with light leaks'' the hard way.
  • Is happy to be alive
  • 10/10

Lomography Diana Baby 110

Honey I shrunk the film.

  • It's a tiny toy.
  • What do you mean where's the focus ring?
  • Taught me ``you need wayyy more light than that'' the hard way.
  • Felt cute. Might not develop later.
  • 10/10
